Saving seeds for green country
Soon the season of fruits like mango, jamun, jack fruit Etc will come. My request to all of us is kindly don't throw the seeds, wash them and pack n keep it in in your car or your anykind of vehicle . Whenever you go out and find baren land while travelling, on a highway throw these seeds. They will germinate easily the coming monsoon. If with this act we can contribute even a single tree each to our world, our mission is successful. This is not just a random idea. It was initiated decades ago in areas like nearby fields. Many other districts have appealed to people to spread abundance in nature this way and many citizens have joined this wonderful mission. It would be wonderful if all of us also join this and contribute back to our next generations world. please,,,,tell or forward to all friends and followers.
Tomatoes, peppers, beans and peas are good choices for seed saving. These plants have flowers that are self-pollinating, and seeds that require little or no special treatment before storage. Seeds from biennial crops such as carrots or beets are harder to save
Store seeds in tightly-sealed glass containers. You can store different kinds of seeds, each in individual paper packets, together in a large container. Keep seeds dry and cool. A temperature between 32° and 41°F is ideal, so your refrigerator can be a good place to store seeds.
Be sure to label your saved seeds with their name, variety, and the date you collected them. It's too easy to forget the details by the following spring. Use saved seed within one year; the older the seed the lower the germination and vigor.
